Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generating essential financial documents like balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss), and cash flow statements.
  • Matching bank statements and internal ledgers to resolve discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Tracking business costs against revenue to provide actionable insights that optimize profitability and growth.

Compliance & Taxation:

  • Preparing, filing, and managing annual and quarterly tax returns for individuals or businesses.
  • Ensuring all accounting procedures and financial activities conform to current local and national government regulations.
  • Assisting external or internal auditors by organizing data and compiling necessary audit reports.

Day-to-Day Financial Operations:

  • Documenting financial transactions (purchases, sales, receipts, and payments) with high precision.
  • Overseeing the money the company owes to vendors and the money owed by clients.
  • Calculating employee wages, managing deductions, and ensuring timely salary distributions.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborating with senior management to create, review, and adjust departmental and company-wide budgets.
  • Using historical financial data to predict future performance and guide long-term business decisions


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in retail, automotive, or service industries is an advantage.
  • Must be willing to reside and work in Ijebu-Ode.
