Accountant

Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Generate profit and loss statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, and overall profitability of the business.

Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversight:

• Supervise and review daily bookkeeping activities handled by the Account Officer.
• Ensure all transactions (income, expenses, payroll, and inventory costs) are properly recorded.
• Maintain and update the general ledger.
• Ensure proper documentation of all financial records.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

• Develop and manage budgets for operations, procurement, and projects.
• Monitor actual spending against the budget and flag variances.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without affecting service quality.
• Control operational and administrative expenses.

Taxation & Compliance:

• Ensure timely filing and payment of all taxes (VAT, PAYE, company tax, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Prepare documents for audits and liaise with external auditors if required.

Internal Controls & Audit:

• Establish and enforce strong financial control systems.
• Monitor for fraud, financial leakages, and irregularities.
• Reconcile bank statements, inventory costs, and financial records regularly.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties between accounts, inventory, and procurement.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Minimum of an HND
