Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the general ledger by maintaining, adjusting, and reconciling accounts.
• Post journal entries and complete month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee the processing of invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Reconcile customer and vendor accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial variances and provide explanations for deviations.
• Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, corporate income tax) in compliance with tax regulations.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and maintain accurate tax records.
• Support internal and external audits by providing financial information and reports as needed.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and advise management on financial strategies.
• This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, managing budgets, processing payroll, and ensuring timely remittance of taxes and other statutory deductions.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
• Prepare financial summaries and reports for management.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on financial matters and support business goals.
• Assist with ad hoc financial projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
