Account Officer

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, and general ledger activities.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance.
• Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, and financial schedules.
• Plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate financial records, operational processes, and internal controls.
• Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
• Identify control weaknesses, financial risks, and operational inefficiencies.
• Prepare audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support the preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax (WHT), Company Income Tax (CIT), and other statutory obligations.
• Assist with external audits and liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
• Prepare financial analyses, variance reports, and budget performance reports.
• Analyze financial data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Develop recommendations for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate financial records and audit documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Proven years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or ANAN is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho Books, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
