About the role
Our performance ambition calls for us to build the best performing most trusted and respected consumer products company in the world; this requires the right transportation and Warehouse management assets and processes are in place and improved to support GN annual performance of NSV of about £360m and trading profit of £150m
The role will drive efficiency across the Guinness warehousing operations and embedding standard processes such as FEFO in other to drive waste/SLOB down.
Accountable for inventory management from raw materials to components and other category of inventory. The role is also responsible for fulfilment of customers’ order.
Dimensions
a) Financial:
This role will provide support to the Logistics Operations Manager in leading performance / operations within a total cost budget of about £20m per annual and support delivery of annual logistics cost savings of £2m per annual.b) Market Complexity
Works in across all the distribution centres across in Nigeria through own- and third-party logistics service providers to create step changes in customer service delivery to both internal and external customers
Handles all external warehouses (depots) to ensure the delivery of Guinness Nigeria business goals and objectives.
c) Leadership Responsibilities
Consistently Deliver Phenomenal Performance - This is a significantly matrixed role. The role holder will work closely with packaging, sales, Brewery logistics and third-party service providers to deliver GN strategic goals and meet / exceed customer expectation
Create Conditions for People to Succeed - Leading the Logistics team comprising of L6 and L7.

To deliver and embed best in class processes in all warehouses and customer service operations in Guinness Nigeria through the development of a committed team that is able to deliver significant value and competitive advantage to our business
Key Decision
Optimisation of Distribution networks
Empties availability for Brewery operations at the right quality
Job Responsibilities
Formulate and implement warehousing standard methodology in line with Diageo supply chain capability framework in all brewery distribution and depots to deliver driven service.
Manage empties and finished inventory to support GN supply chain in meeting customer / consumer satisfaction and to ensure accountability.
Play a lead role in the achievement of sales targets and competitive advantage through physical distribution and order fulfilment.
Ensure the achievement of all key performance indicators in line with GN business objective in order to drive superior performance.
Formulate and implement critical initiatives as well as suitable logistics operations improvement in all distribution centres to enhance GN supply chain efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications and Experience Required
Proven experience particularly in physical distribution activities; with a depth of capability in logistics and customer management / process design and development.
Ability to take commercial insights and translate into performance to grow the business.
Proven track record to persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and all functions
Analytical, interpretative and decision-making skills within a highly dynamic process environment
Fully conversant with inventory management processes using SAP systems.
Detailed knowledge of Diageo warehouse management standards.
Ability to competently coach and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams.
Bachelor’s degree qualification. Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an added advantage
