Refractory Supervisor

Job Summary

The Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a skilled and experienced Refractory Supervisor to join our team. As a Refractory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and management of refractory in our plant. Your key duties and responsibilities will include participating in planning and organizing refractory repairs, scheduling maintenance and turnarounds, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and supervise all refractory repairs and turnarounds. Schedule refractory maintenance and coordinate activities with other departments. Monitor and control refractory inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials. Train and mentor refractory technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of refractory linings in high-temperature equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations for refractory work. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to optimize refractory performance and reduce downtime. Maintain accurate documentation and records of refractory work and inspections. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance refractory processes and performance.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

Trade Test 1 + 24 -30 Years experience or OND (Relevant discipline) +10 - 20 Years experience in refractory installation, maintenance, and management. Experience in the cement industry is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of refractory materials, installation techniques, and maintenance practices. Excellent leadership and supervisory skills. Good understanding of safety regulations and practices. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer applications related to refractory management.
