Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Repair: Plumbers install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and waste disposal in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Reading Blueprints: They interpret blueprints and building specifications to plan the layout and installation of plumbing systems.
  • Pipefitting: Plumbers measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
  • Fixture Installation: They install and repair fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, faucets, and showers.
  • Water Heater Installation and Repair: Plumbers install and repair water heaters, including both traditional tank heaters and tankless water heaters.
  • Drainage Systems: They design, install, and repair drainage systems and ensure proper flow and drainage of wastewater.
  • Troubleshooting: Plumbers diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems and provide effective solutions to issues such as leaks, clogs, and malfunction
  • Compliance: They ensure that plumbing systems comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Customer Service: Plumbers often interact with clients to understand their needs, explain repairs or installations, and provide estimates for services.
  • Emergency Services: They may respond to emergency calls for issues such as burst pipes, overflowing toilets, or gas leaks, providing timely solutions to prevent further damage.
  • Maintenance: Plumbers perform routine maintenance to keep plumbing systems in optimal working condition and prevent potential problems.
