We are looking to fill the role of an Operations Manager

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Management Reporting

• Communicate and provide information to supervisors, peers or subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in person.

• Management meetings on Monday and Wednesday

• Staff meeting on Mondays to set agenda and priorities for the week

• Daily coordination meeting with staff to monitor and steer team delivery

• End-of-week management report to monitor plan vs progress

Manage the Operations

• Anticipates, identifies and communicates issues, risks, and consequences of proposed management decisions

• Makes astute decisions with the available information

• Anticipates tight decision deadlines with astute decisions

• Decides based on both the here and now and longer-term outcomes

• Stands behind their decisions

• Evaluate decisions and follow up on impacts

Cost Management

• Ensure that Production, Trading and Fixed costs is less than budgeted cost.

• Identify and implement 3 cost reduction opportunities. Target cost reduction of 20% to baseline Souk IG cost.

Financial Goals/Sales and Production Plan

• Establish a 1-year and 3-year business plan to be reviewed annually. One will need to have good understanding of markets and competitors in order to optimize sales and positioning according to the market.

New Business Development

• Implement new business development opportunities for SOUK IG Manage the Farm

• Supervise the Agronomist

• Build relationships with the District and the Cooperative

• Records information, such as farm management practices and production results.

• Providing guidance and expert advice to management and other stakeholders supply chain and production department

Manage the Employees

• Coordinate the staff to accomplish these daily, weekly, and monthly business goals

• Provide guidance to warehouse staff in staging orders for shipment

• Supervise the office staff in budgeting, reconciliation, sales, and purchases

• Provides direct supervision over staff to include discretionary authority to determine methods of work; plan, assign, and direct the work; in coordination with human resources and corporate policy, recommend personnel actions (promotions, salary and wage adjustments, demotions, discipline, discharge, etc.); administer routine performance appraisals; and interview/select employees.

• Motivate, develop and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

Training and development

• To conduct Training Need Assessment for direct reports

• Administer the trainings as per schedule

• Coaching and mentoring juniors as per schedule

Performance Management

• Ensure juniors understand their roles and expectations as laid out in the job descriptions

• Communicate and set targets for all juniors

• Weekly monitoring of the operations team's performance and taking appropriate action

• To carry out performance reviews for juniors and create clear job descriptions for all your staff.

• Follow up on gaps identified during performance review sessions and ensure that action points are attended to.

• Provide superb analyses and recommendations for budgets and business plans;

• Maintain high morale, low turnover, and commitment to excellence within your team.



Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management or a relevant field

• 5-10 years of experience in Operations Management or Corporate Management in an agriculture or horticulture business

• Recent or current successful horticulture operations experience.

• Solid understanding of Best Agricultural Practices
