Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, file, and serve court documents, notices, and pleadings in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage and maintain accurate, up-to-date case files, including electronic and physical records.
- Coordinate with lawyers, court officials, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth case management.
- Assist in conducting legal research, document review, and gathering relevant information for cases.
- Provide general administrative support to the litigation team, including scheduling appointments, organizing meetings, and managing correspondence.
- Track and monitor case deadlines, ensuring all necessary filings and actions are completed on time.
- Assist in preparing trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and evidence binders.
- Handle client communications, as needed, under the supervision of the litigation team.
- Perform other clerical duties, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing documents.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an OND or diploma in a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Litigation Clerk or in a similar legal administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, court officials, and colleagues.
- Keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and filing requirements is a plus.
