Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures by local regulations and industry standards.
- Review and update existing policies to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
- Develop and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and improve workplace safety.
- Ensure the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory agencies and maintain necessary records and documentation.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and management on health, safety, and environmental topics.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and encourage safe work practices throughout the organization.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records of incidents and conduct follow-up to ensure effective implementation of corrective measures.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid, and handling hazardous materials.
- Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
- Monitor and manage environmental impacts, including waste management, resource conservation, and pollution control.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive HSE reports and documentation, including incident logs, risk assessments, and training records.
- Provide regular updates to management on HSE performance and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, with a proven track record in implementing HSE programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
- Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
