History/ Government Teacher

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover various aspects of government, including political theory, institutions, and processes.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and enhance student understanding.
• Foster critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions, debates, and interactive activities.
• Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, and projects, and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, diversity, and civic responsibility.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate government studies into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
• Stay informed about current events and political developments to incorporate relevant topics into the curriculum.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Political Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• State teaching certification or licensure in Government or Social Studies.
• Proven experience teaching government or related subjects at the secondary level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for education and a commitment to promoting civic engagement among students.
