Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the long-term vision and mission of the laboratory.

Operational Oversight

  • Direct and oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Implement and optimize operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround times.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure the laboratory's compliance with industry regulations, accreditation standards, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision.

Team Leadership

  • Provide strong leadership to the entire team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence among departments
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to build a high-performing and motivated team.

Financial Management

  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the annual and monthly budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost optimization, and ensure fiscal responsibility.

Technology and Infrastructure

  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance laboratory processes and capabilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of laboratory equipment and facilities.

Client Relations

  • Collaborate with business development and client services teams to understand client needs and expectations.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess operational risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to ensure business continuity.

Communication and Reporting

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on operational performance and key initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and strategic insights.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes, workflows, and overall performance.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of cognate experience in the same role
  • Bachelor's Degree academic qualification
