We are looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill this position. The ideal candidate will manage the effective development and operations of the schools’ information and communications equipment and networks, including the school website

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on hardware and software issues within the school, organize and manage the installation and configuration of hardware and software
  • Assist staff and students with hardware and software operations ensuring that staff and students have a satisfactory, robust, reliable and secure ICT environment and infrastructure for academic and administration purposes, including backup schemes
  • Lead the ICT Unit in providing day-to-day maintenance support for ICT equipment and infrastructure
  • Training and on-boarding for staff and students as required
  • Co-ordinate the provision of live operational scheduling and monitoring as required, including integrity checking for archive/backup data and other regular housekeeping and maintenance procedures. 
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date inventories and records of all ICT hardware and software including maintaining and updating plans and drawings of locations of equipment, switches, cabling etc., and signing resources out/in to staff.
  • Work with the school leadership to refine/design a blueprint for the effective deployment of ICT in teaching and learning within and outside the classroom, and share responsibility for implementation
  • Monitor and manage the use of the Internet within the schools and report issues to their line manager. 
  • Manage staff and student accounts and where necessary add new members of the school communities, and organize the archiving of user materials from school leavers before removal of their user accounts. 
  • Provide ICT support for events/programmes and meetings
  • Establish contingency and recovery plans in case of emergencies including power cuts, system faults and equipment damage.
  • Responsible for the internally-developed “Digital Literacy” programme; supervise Digital Literacy team/facilitators in order to ensure quality delivery and optimal students’ learning experience
  • Manage and promote the optimal use of the School Management System
  • Make recommendations for, and drive the discovery and enhancement of students’ tech skills across the entire school
  • Lead/mentor and supervise ICT staff, being responsible for their performance management and capacity development.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in managing an ICT unit responsible for effective deployment and management of IT infrastructure (hardware and software) in an international secondary school.
  • Preferred candidate should be between 30 - 40 years old with robust health
