The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Renewable Energy to lead our renewable energy strategy, oversee project development initiatives, identify investment opportunities, and drive sustainable business growth.

This part-time remote leadership position is suited to a senior professional with strong expertise in renewable energy, energy project development, commercial strategy, and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, investors, technical specialists, government stakeholders, and strategic partners to identify opportunities and support the development of renewable energy projects across relevant markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for renewable energy business development and expansion.
• Lead initiatives involving solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and other renewable energy technologies.
• Identify and evaluate renewable energy investment opportunities and potential projects.
• Oversee renewable energy project development from initial feasibility assessment through planning and implementation.
• Develop strategic partnerships with energy companies, investors, technology providers, and government organizations.
• Evaluate project feasibility, financial performance, technical requirements, and commercial viability.
• Identify opportunities for solar energy installations, clean energy infrastructure, and sustainable power solutions.
• Lead business development activities, commercial negotiations, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Monitor renewable energy market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
• Support investment proposals, business cases, financial models, and project presentations.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, procurement, and project management teams.
• Ensure projects align with applicable environmental standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, operational performance, and return on investment.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, investors, energy authorities, and industry partners.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, risks, and overall performance.
• Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, and strategic business discussions.
• Provide regular strategic updates and performance reports to senior management.

Requirements

• At least 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in renewable energy, energy project development, power generation, or a related industry preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• A master's degree in Energy Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Proven experience in renewable energy project development, strategic planning, or energy business management.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and other clean energy solutions.
• Experience evaluating project feasibility, investment opportunities, and commercial business models.
• Knowledge of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability requirements.
• Strong financial, commercial, and strategic planning abilities.
• Experience managing partnerships with investors, government entities, developers, and energy stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify new market opportunities and develop strategic business relationships.
• Familiarity with energy policies, ESG principles, and environmental sustainability standards.
• Experience in international energy markets, particularly the UAE and GCC region, is an advantage.
• Ability to manage projects and collaborate with international teams remotely.
