Job Summary
Job Description/Requirements
Reporting to the Plant Director, the Deputy General Manager is responsible to give support to the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all power plant activities.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
oParticipate in the development of overall power plant strategy, policies and procedures
oEnsure power plant activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations
oManage and mentor the power plant team and ensure resources are allocated effectively
oDevelop, implement and manage power plant budgets
oConduct regular safety audits and adhere to safety guidelines
oEnsure effective utilization of state-of-the-art equipment to generate power
oDevelop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
oResponsible for major overhauls of the boilers/turbines as per recommended schedule to ensure the reliability/availability of the plant with operating agencies systematically.
oForecast Power requirements and facilitate operational requirements across the Company from time to time.
oTrain the workforce to the job execution with on-site job orientation with appropriate agencies for sustained operations
oCoordinate with OEMs for maintenance activities of major equipment.
oMitigate operational risks at all areas and ensure high degree of safety in boiler operation.
oOptimise the power generation cost with appropriate controls and measures with optimum SHR and load factors.
oPlan and maintain all consumables required for operation through respective units and keep operational costs under budget.
oApply technological developments in power generation and improve power plant operations.
oOptimise costs of generation by effective utilization of all resources including AFR.
oApply innovation and best practices in thermal power plants.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 18 years of experience in maintaining Instrumentation in Gas Turbine based power plants. Good understanding of Instrumentation philosophies, Instrumentation Standards, Engineering Standards, and regulations. Familiarity with various types of Instrumentation and design philosophy of complete package, different DCS systems, and Control Logics. Knowledge of power plant processes, Governor control, Turbine control systems, Fire and Gas Detection system, communication systems, and Integration of different control systems. Experience in Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Proficiency in safety requirements for job execution and permit system. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools like SAP. Creativity and ability to think outside the box.Benefits
