JOB PURPOSE: The Delegate Sales Manager will be responsible for all delegates sales revenue on NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition, Practical Nigerian Content Forum and a new launch event. You will work closely with the Vice President – Africa, Portfolio Director and Event Director to formulate a sales strategy for your events and in managing key accounts. The ideal candidate will be both analytical and creative and have the ability to implement change at a senior level. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Maximising and optimising delegate sales for Nigerian events • Assist operations with onsite delegate registration • Effectively communicating your sales strategy with the marketing, content and event manager for each product. • Writing pitches and conducting pitch backs with the content and commercial members of the project team • Working with the content, marketing team and database resources to help select and accurately target prospective delegate growth areas. • Assessing and helping to improve current and prospective customer retention and acquisition strategies • To assist in the processing & confirmation of exhibitor information and to monitor exhibitor responses to ensure all necessary information is Working with the entire project team to ensure that delegate requirements and expectations are met • Have a good understanding of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Technical / Functional • Training team members where relevant – contract/temp staff • Experience in B2B conference delegate sales, ideally in the energy sector (generally speaking, candidates that will be considered should have at least 6-12 months of experience in this sector) • Experience in the use of databases (particularly salesforce) in both mass and targeted sales campaigns • Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills • Account management/account planning • Customer-focused, with a consultative selling style, as well as transactional selling experience • Excellent command of written and spoken (business) English, – other languages could be an advantage, particularly European/Eurasian languages • Sound commercial awareness, excellent organizational skills • Highly motivated and proactive with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Key Success Criteria • Ability to work across sales, marketing, content and operations teams • Experience of managing and growing a book of business • To simultaneously manage a multitude of strategies across international portfolios • Ability to engage with, and become part of, the global energy market. • A team player dmg::events is an equal opportunity employer.
