The Systems Engineer role involves ELV systems design/implementation, network/system administration, and documentation, requiring an academic background in IT/engineering, skills in system/network administration, problem-solving, self-learning, and relevant certifications (A+, CCNA).

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- ELV Systems designs and implementation: Designs and installation of ELV systems e.g. physical security systems (Access Control Systems, Alarm Systems, IP Surveillance, etc).
- Network Administration: Network administration includes installation of physical networks, Setup and configuration of basic LAN & WAN Systems, Network troubleshooting, etc.
- Systems Administration: Server hardware and software administration, PC Hardware and software administration, Software deployment on servers, etc.
- System Documentation Documentation of systems configuration and designs, Schematics and wiring diagrams, basic generation for design and planning network communication systems.
Requirements:
- HND or B.Sc. in Elect/Elect Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, Software/Systems Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
- 1-2 years experience in a related role.
Skills/Physical Competencies:
- Networking Protocols: Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and other networking protocols is essential for configuring and troubleshooting network devices and services.
- Hardware Management: Ability to install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios), virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) is crucial for managing IT systems.
- Problem-solving skills.
Behavioural Qualities:
- Detail-oriented: A meticulous approach to configuration, documentation, etc.
- Adaptability: IT environments are dynamic and constantly evolving; being adaptable and quick to learn new technologies and methodologies is key.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Time Management: Prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and handling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
