Senior Cost Accountant

A vacancy exists for a Cost Accountant. This position will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities will include:

Ø Processing of Importers Suppliers invoicing daily after matching with Purchase Orders and Goods Received Notes

Ø Daily running of voucher journal reports to ensure completeness of processing of incidental cost

Ø Weekly running and review of creditors age analysis to identify problems and mistakes

Ø Perform weekly/monthly foreign creditors reconciliations between SAP and suppliers’ statements

Ø Follow up outstanding invoices/statements with suppliers timeously and regularly

Ø Prepare monthly remittance advice for all foreign creditor payments

Ø Preparation and submission of Forex payments to the banks for payment

Ø Present reconciliations and remittance advice timeously to the Finance Manager for review, approval and payment

Ø Monthly preparation and update of Costing Files and review of costing on SAP for reasonableness and accuracy

Ø Filing and general office administration

Ø Support team members and participate in team meetings on a regular basis.

The ideal Candidate should:

Ø Have a Degree in Accounting or relevant qualifications with ACA or ACCA

Ø Have at least 5 years’ experience in a related position,

Ø Be highly computer literate in MS Office,

Ø Experience on an ERP system, SAP would be an advantage,

Ø Have strong analytical, planning and organisational skills,

Ø Have the ability to function effectively in a team environment,

Ø Have the ability to communicate effectively with senior management,

Ø Have strong people management skills,

Ø Be deadline driven and be able to work under pressure.

Ø Have a highly developed intercultural sensitivity
