Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Strategy and planning: Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive physical security program by developing and enforcing security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- This includes conducting regular risk assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Team management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of security guards or officers.
- They ensure that staff are properly trained in security procedures, emergency response, and customer service.
- System management: Manage and maintain all electronic security systems, including CCTV surveillance, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and identity badge systems.
- This also involves overseeing the installation and maintenance of physical barriers and locking systems.
- Incident response: Lead the response to all security incidents, such as security breaches, alarms, and other emergencies.
- This includes investigating incidents, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency preparedness: Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans and protocols for a range of scenarios, including natural disasters, medical emergencies, fires, and active threats.
- They also organize and conduct drills and training sessions to ensure all employees know their roles and responsibilities.
- Cross-departmental collaboration: Work with other departments, such as IT, facilities, and human resources, to ensure security measures are integrated into business processes.

- External relations: Maintain relationships with law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency services to coordinate responses and share information.

- Reporting and analysis: Create reports for senior management on security status, incidents, and performance metrics.
- They analyze security data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
- Education: A Diploma or bachelor's degree in pschology, sociology, security management, criminal justice, or a related field is often preferred.
- Experience: Candidates usually have extensive experience in security management, law enforcement, or the military.
- Experience with enterprise-level security technologies and managing security projects is also highly valued.
- Technical knowledge: In-depth knowledge of security technologies, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems, is essential.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are often preferred.
- Leadership and communication: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills are critical for managing a team and interacting with all levels of an organization.
- Problem-solving: The ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions during emergencies, and quickly solve problems is essential.
- Budgeting: Experience with budget management for security operations is often required.
- Regulatory understanding: Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations is necessary for ensuring compliance.
