Job Summary

Sales Manager Nigeria is in charge of building and executing The Network Marketing Strategy for the Market, including delivering sales plans and supporting 4 catalogues per year. The person in this position has a personal responsibility for the Sales department consisting: Sales, Training and SalesForce Growth.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy:

  • Building and executing Sales Strategy for the Market
  • Being in charge of Market SalesForce Growth Plan -  development of plans, implementation, follow-up, analysis and adaptation (Recruitment plans, Activity drivers, Support Activities)
  • Making sure that the Earning Opportunity and offering in Nigeria is attractive and relevant. 
  • Support in creating and evaluating the Marketing plans, with the aim to maximize synergies with Sales Support plans
  • Management of sponsor programs

2. Team Management:

  • Recruit new team members when needed to build an effective team. Overseeing new employees’ onboarding
  • Developing people. Ensure that employees are adequately prepared and trained to perform their duties; assist and encourage subordinates in developing their skills and self-confidence through coaching and regular and constructive feedback. Develop suitable replacements, including own successor
  • Monitor, review and evaluate the performance of individuals by the IPM process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance and capabilities development planning
  • Recognize and reward good results and initiative. Create an environment that encourages excellence, sharing best practices and that tight communication with different departments is done especially Marketing Team.
  • Delegate responsibilities and decisions to help empower people and teams
  • Consciously support the workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization

3. Global Support:

  • Participating in GDSM and SMILE meetings in order to share the regional specificities and the best practice to GSO and other regions
  • Supporting other regions by training or coaching key regional sales staff members
  • Supporting global projects when needed
  • Providing relevant feedback to Global and sharing knowledge to other markets regarding Sales Support Drivers, Campaigns and other sales programs

  • Sales Manager Nigeria needs to have very strong leadership and management skills with the ability to promote a “can-do” attitude. A person in this position should be result-oriented, focused on business and team development and a very strong network builder, supporter of the markets. Individual must be able to think creatively and strategically, have good judgments, make decisions and be able to work in a multicultural company.
  • The person should have the ability to deal with high stress connected with the pressure of time and results.
  • The person in this position must be a strong communicator able to build good relationships with regional sales teams, as well as internally with the management team.

A person who will be able to empower, inspire and maximize the potential of each team member
  • Public speaking and presenting: A charismatic and convincing communicator orally and in writing, a polished public speaker who relates well to the audience, especially our top consultants in the region
  • Result-oriented: Someone who seeks excellence and challenge, consistently achieving even difficult targets, and who is personally ambitious.
  • Analytical skills: Someone who is quick and accurate at handling numbers, has relevant data at their fingertips, and understands reports and can take proper decisions and make plans based on that.

Qualification & Experience:

 This section should highlight recommended or required types of education, training and/or experience associated with the role and successful performance at this given level.

  • University graduate in business, sales or marketing, communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise
  • At least 8 years of experience within the international Direct Sales industry or equivalent, and preferably in cosmetics and direct sales
  • Must have been working in a market and understand how a consultant/leader thinks and works
  • At least several years of professional experience in managing people
  • Computer literacy
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, additional local languages preferred as well
