Sales Engineer - Civil/Geotechnical

Job Summary

We are looking for a tech-savvy Sales Engineer to assist with the selling of complex materials testing products or services to the building, construction and education industry. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the clients' needs.To be successful as a Sales Engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales and customer service skills.

Job Description


 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers.

Ø  Discussing equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers.

Ø  Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.

Ø  Preparing Proposal

Ø  Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and arranging deliveries.

Ø  Researching, developing, and modifying products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.

Ø  Managing newsletter lists

Ø  Helping customers who have problems with installed products and recommending improved or upgraded materials and machinery.

Ø  Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.

Ø  Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.

Ø  Setting and achieving sales goals and quotas.

Ø  Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.

Ø  Prepare and present periodic reports for management on Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Bases

Ø  Develop and maintain good relationships

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This role is open to all graduates, BEng/BSc/HND/MBA/MSc/MA degree in the following subject areas may help:

Ø  Civil Engineering

Ø  Geology

Ø  Geotechnical Engineering

Ø  Industrial Physics

Ø  Environmental Engineering

Ø  Building Technology

Ø  Quantity Survey

Ø  Urban & Regional Planning

 

REQUIREMENTS

You will need to have:

Ø  A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

Ø  Experience in sales and the construction industry.

Ø  Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.

Ø  The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.

Ø  Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

Ø  Good leadership and team working skills.

Ø  Willingness to continue your sales and engineering education.

Ø  Knowledge of the regulatory environment for the construction industry including regulatory standards

Ø  Thorough practical knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint office package

Ø  A logical and systematic approach to work

Ø  Good time management ability

Ø  Commercial awareness and numeracy skills

Ø  IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data

Ø  The ability to manage change

Ø  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people

Ø  A positive attitude to continued learning
