Job Summary

A reputable institute in Nigeria is looking to recruit a Research Officer who will be responsible for the execution of research policies and programmes of the Institute. The ideal candidate should be able to handle and supervise research projects from the early planning stages to project completion, communicate with team members and verify that all projects and tasks are on schedule. He should be able to gather data, analyse data, draw conclusions, make projections based on the information obtained from the data analysed and report to his/her supervisor and the committee in charge.

  • Minimum Qualification: Degree
  • Experience Level: Mid level
  • Experience Length: 2 years

Job Description/Requirements


  • Regular and periodic data collection on identified project topic

  • Working with team members at projects planning stages to identify project goals, research methods, variables, and other test parameters 

  • Data analysis using up to date data analytical tools

  • Project management; choose how to collect data and offer recommendations on evaluating the project

  • Production of the Institute’s magazine

  • Production of the Institute’s Journal

  • Production of periodic Newsletters for the institute

  • Working with the Research Committee

  • Prepare research schedules to monitor the activities of the research team.

  • Support the programmes of the institute, including  its advocacy programmes with well researched information

  • Manage the Institutes library

  • Engage in periodic critical research to support the business of the practicing members in the industry in which the Institute operates

  • Not more than 35 years

  • B.Sc in Economics, Finance Statistics, Mathematics or any quantitative discipline

  • Relevant Professional qualification is an added advantage

  • MSC, MBA, MBF in relevant field is an added advantage

  • At least 2 years post NYSC cognate experience and proven track records in financial analysis 

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access)

  • Written and verbal communication skills 

  • Organizational skills

  • Database management skills

  • Ability to compile and synthesize research in a manner that is easy to understand for other officers and other departments

  • Adept multi-tasker with ability to quickly prioritize and organize

  • Team player who collaborates with ease and contagious creative energy

  • Strategic vision and strong business acumen

  • Confident contributor who can accept and implement constructive feedback

  • Sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on organizational success
