Job Summary
The Raw Cocoa Quality Assessor is responsible for evaluating the quality of raw cocoa beans at various stages of procurement and storage. This role ensures that all cocoa received meets the company's quality standards and complies with industry regulations and buyer requirements.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and grade raw cocoa beans based on physical and sensory attributes (moisture content, bean count, fermentation, mould, pest damage, etc.).
- Conduct cut tests and moisture tests using standard equipment.
- Sample cocoa beans from batches for laboratory analysis when necessary.
- Maintained detailed quality reports and documentation of assessments.
- Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and handling of cocoa.
- Identify and report any non-conformities or quality issues.
- Provide feedback and training to farmers, cooperatives, or suppliers on improving bean quality.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability and certification standards (e.g., Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ).
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and cocoa grading protocols.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in agriculture, food science, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in cocoa quality assessment or post-harvest handling is an advantage.
- Good understanding of cocoa bean quality parameters and grading techniques.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to work in field environments and travel to sourcing locations.
- Basic computer literacy and report-writing skills.
- Fluency in Yoruba and English is a plus.
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 Net
