Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, execution and completion of the project ensuring strategy, commitment and goals are maintained. 

o Will be committed to assuring project quality, meeting approved budgets and scheduled deadlines and overseeing quality control project life cycle.

o Assume leadership and accountability for successful large scale, complex process improvement projects / initiatives, including completion of projects / initiatives on time, on budget, and achieving targeted results.

o working effectively with process and/or functional leaders and other cross-functional resources in a collaborative manner to analyze issues and drive improvement of selected business processes.

o Appropriate use of process improvement / project management concepts and tools to plan, guide and monitor project activities. In addition to project leadership, provide supply chain process and systems expertise to others within the process improvement community and the broader operational areas related to the processes supported.

 

 

Preferred experience, skills, education

o Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering or Project Management or Equivalent

o 12+ years of work experience (including time working in project environment, with at least 5 years of experience of managing projects).

o PMP certification preferred or demonstrate an understanding and application of Project Management Institute (PMI) principles.

o Individual must have strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and organizational skills and the ability to influence others.

o Knowledge of MS project or other project management software.

o Visio or other workflow software (preferred).

o Strong verbal and written communication skills.

o High-level knowledge and exposure to end-to-end management.

o Experience leading in a matrix management environment

o Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, BOQs.

o Background in reviewing Architectural and Engineering drawings to ensure specifications and regulations are followed is preferred.

o Must be able to manage budgets, timelines and construction schedules with an extreme attention to detail

o Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

o Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and management

o Must possess good business judgment; an understanding of legal issues and contracts

o Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, residents, and the general public.

o Can develop justifications of requirements/business case and participate in budget process

o Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

o Must be able to effectively supervise outside vendors in a manner that supports the firm’s goals, timeframes and expectations. This includes demonstrated acumen in negotiation of contracts and terms

o Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, construction procedures, estimating and scheduling practices.
