Job Description/Requirements

The Project Manager reports to the Director of Operations, deputising for both the Director of Operations and General Manager, to ensure the smooth running of the Business.  You will exercise your expertise in coordinating activities across Datashpir and its clients and be responsible for the successful delivery of projects that support the growth of the Business. As part of doing that, you will be instrumental in ensuring stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally, are aware of plans, dependencies, risks and mitigations and you will drive resolutions to unblock progress.


  • Drive annual and quarterly roadmap planning activities
  • Maintain an overview of client commitments and mobilise and organise internal activities to deliver accordingly
  • Establish projects, build project plans, identify dependencies and sequence activities 
  • Provide clear planning assumptions and identify risks to manage
  • Plan deliverables in alignment with client commitments and internal strategic priorities
  • Determine and establish third party dependencies and deliverables for projects
  • Put in place governance to manage 3rd party and internal activities
  • Manage allocation of resources to tasks
  • Define and own tools and processes for tracking and managing project delivery
  • Monitor and report progress against projects using defined tools and processes
  • Identify, raise and manage risks and issues, providing action plans and mitigations alongside timely status updates
  • Adapt to and manage changing factors that could impact projects
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including to Senior Management and Executive levels, ensuring alignment on delivery plans and status
  • Deliver clear and concise communications on progress and change using the relevant groups and meetings set up within the governance structure
  • Own required/appropriate progress checkpoints, ensuring that they are structured and provide clear criteria to support decision making
  • Ensure that the outputs of projects deliver to time, cost and quality objectives, in accordance with project plans and project governance arrangements
  • Put in place and utilise financial tracking tools and mechanisms for tracking spend against budget, forecasting and reporting and analysis

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong external stakeholder and customer and supplier management ability
  • At least 5 years experience as a Project Manager in a software development environment, adopting appropriate methodology, to suit Business needs
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of managing the end-to-end project lifecycle from shaping and definition, through technical delivery, across go-to-market and business readiness, achieving a successful and well-coordinated product release
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with a focused approach to getting the job done in line with the project deliverables
  • Effective and confident interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels throughout an organisation
  • Ability to prioritise workload, risks and issues efficiently and effectively
  • Able to understand and adopt new and appropriate IT tools and techniques, quickly and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, and team building
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Wiki or equivalent tools, also beneficial
  • Proficient use of Excel including use of formulae, data analysis and reports; demonstrable experience of producing high quality Management Information from a variety of data sources
  • Proficient use of PowerPoint and other presentation applications; can analyse and present data in a way that is visually appealing and easy to understand
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
