Pharmacist

Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently to patients.
• Counsel patients on the proper use of prescribed medications, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring the availability of medications and related supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimize patient drug therapies.
• Stay informed about new pharmaceutical developments, treatments, and drug therapies.
• Process insurance claims and manage the submission of necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
• Provide immunization services and conduct health screenings where applicable.
• Handle emergency situations such as adverse drug reactions and make appropriate interventions.
• Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications to maintain their efficacy and safety.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail or hospital setting.
• BSc. in Pharmacy or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist, with registration with the relevant professional body.
• In-depth knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, dosages, and proper administration methods.
• Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions and patient records.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once.
• Knowledge of local and national pharmacy regulations and standards.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
