Opportunity to join an Abuja Based Boutique Investment Management Firm as an Operational Analyst; The firm is in the business of aggregating capital for and making investments in high growth Nigerian businesses across a number of sectors including Food and Agribusiness.

Job Description/Requirements

The Analyst will be involved in the oversight and monitoring of operational performance of  the Firm’s Portfolio Companies principally in the agribusiness and food industry.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Portfolio Companies in devising appropriate corporate and business strategies 

  • Support in the creation of techniques, tools and templates to optimise operational performance, including the areas of customer service and training requirements

  • Support the portfolio companies to devise high level sales and marketing strategies, leveraging traditional and digital mediums

  • Participate in setting monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and sales targets for portfolio companies

  • Reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual performance of the portfolio companies including variance analysis vs budgets and targets

  • Preparing and presenting periodic reports to the Investment Committee on the performance of the Portfolio Companies

  • Making recommendations to the Investment Committee on necessary changes required to enhance portfolio company operations and performance

  • Liaising with the Management Team of Portfolio Companies as appropriate 

Key Attributes:

  • Strong working knowledge/understanding of operational processes in the food, manufacturing and agribusiness industries

  • Preference for candidates with an education background (Degree) in Engineering/Operations Management and/or an MBA

  • Highly numerate with strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent analytical ability and a keen eye for detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • A self-starter with the ability to work effectively under pressure

  • The ability to foster cordial and effective working relationships with the management teams of the Portfolio Companies
