Job Summary

There is an opening for a smart and resourceful individual to serve as a Mechanical Engineer in a growing, upstream, oil and gas consulting and resource management company based in Lagos. Company wants to grow sales and supplies in the near term and then establish warehousing, workshop, and manufacturing unit in-country over time with increase in business activities.

Job Description/Requirements


Mechanical Engineer: A technical business development position for growing the supply of world-class forged steel products and machined parts including swivel ring, weld neck, blind, compact flanges, spectacle blind and spacer, pipe and bundle type bulkhead forgings, collars & buckle arrestors, anchor, and hanger flanges etc. Materials engaged include carbon, high yield carbon, stainless, alloy, super duplex amongst others. Short overseas training may be attached to this position to foster better understanding of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vision, processes, and products.


The Requirements are as follows:

  • Minimum HND / B.Sc. Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance Engineering with at least Upper Credit / Second Class Upper (other related Engineering degrees will be considered as well)

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in engineering. 

  • Sales and Business Development skills are critical.

  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Applications) & Business Presentation skills are required.

  • Experience in negotiation and trading – Commercial, Bidding, Contracting 

  • Good Communication Skills - both oral and written 

  • Good Organizational and Interpersonal Skills; Good team player

  • A self-starter and goal-getter with dynamic attitude, capable of working under pressure with little or no supervision.


Added Advantage: 

  • Direct interface with foundry and metal machining operations will be an added advantage.

  • Offshore experience will be an advantage.

  • Relevant oil and gas offshore documents (BOSIET, OSP etc.) will be an advantage.

  • Experience with heavy duty machinery (e.g., cranes, pumps, generators etc.) will be a plus.

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an advantage.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Perform all business development activities that will lead to increase sales and supplies with international oil companies, other operators, major installation contractors, etc.

  • Perform all market analyses and source for upcoming projects in all industries. 

  • Engage all stakeholders including planning units, project engineers, procurement team, contract teams and line operations of all potential customers. 

  • Lead in planning, developing, and executing strategies and action plans to continually increase the market share for Company and OEM. 

  • Maintain safety of self, product, workplace, and colleagues; Ensure QC/ QA as needed 

  • Generate regular reports and feedback of business development to Company and OEM.

  • Participating in planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.


Preferences: resident on the Island (Ikoyi, VI, Lekki, Ajah, Sangotedo, Awoyaya)

Office Hours: 9am – 6pm on weekdays

Location: off Chevron Drive, Lekki.
