Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute integrated marketing plans to grow our remittance and POS/terminal presence in Canada, Nigeria, and key diaspora markets.
- Build brand awareness through digital campaigns, social media, PR, content marketing, and merchant/agent engagement programs.
- Design merchant acquisition and customer-growth funnels optimized for conversion and retention.
Investor Relations & Fundraising:
- Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with international investors, venture capital firms, private equity, and strategic fintech partners.
- Prepare and deliver compelling investor materials, pitch decks, financial models, market analyses, and impact reports.
- Lead end-to-end fundraising processes: outreach, due diligence coordination, data room management, and term-sheet negotiations in partnership with leadership.
Market Intelligence & Partnerships:
- Analyze competitive landscape and fintech trends to inform product positioning and fundraising narratives.
- Forge partnerships with banks, payment networks, and ecosystem players that enhance our brand and attract investment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, finance, and operations to ensure marketing and fundraising efforts reflect regulatory compliance and business objectives.
- Provide regular updates and KPIs to executive leadership and the board.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of marketing and/or investor-relations experience, with 3+ years in fintech, payments, or financial services.
- Proven track record of raising capital (Series A/B or later) and building relationships with international investors.
- Deep understanding of global remittance and POS/terminal markets, including B2C and B2B merchant acquisition strategies.
- Strong digital marketing skills (performance marketing, growth hacking, analytics, CRM automation).
- Excellent storytelling, presentation, and negotiation abilities for high-stakes investor meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
Preferred Tools / Platforms:
- Marketing: HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Mailchimp/GetResponse.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Tableau.
- Investor Management: PitchBook, DocSend, Affinity, or similar CRM for fundraising.
