Kitchen Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and storing food items.
• Support cooks and chefs by delivering ingredients, utensils, and supplies as needed.
• Keep all kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas, clean and organized.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment using proper sanitation procedures.
• Dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen and food storage areas.
• Ensure that food is stored properly and at the correct temperatures to prevent spoilage.
• Assist in receiving and unpacking deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy of orders.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
• Assist with basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior kitchen staff as required.
• Help with setting up and clearing tables or serving food during busy periods, if needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
