Internal Communications Manager

Job Summary

We are facilitating financial services for the next billion Africans, one that creates financial happiness for everyone; hence have brought together a talented team with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and skills. We are looking for an experienced communications specialist that can shape our culture at TeamApt. Our team has grown rapidly to over 200 staff. We are establishing new offices around the globe, and most of our employees work remotely. As we grow, we want to make sure we can get the right messages, to the right people, at the right time. If you are a creative storyteller, can develop and deliver messaging and communications to a diverse audience, design innovative campaigns for Aptians on issues that directly impact their work experience, then we want you. In this role, you will help reimagine how TeamApt communicates with its employees, developing compelling content that is fresh, engaging, and visually appealing. You will drive communication strategies and long-term internal marketing campaigns that are designed to inform and engage employees on prioritized topics and narratives. In this role, you will have an understanding of employee engagement efforts; you'll need excellent decision-making skills, a strong sense of TeamApt's voice and culture, as well as a commitment to our core values of communicating with employees openly and transparently.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire employees around the company's mission, leadership principles, launches, and other priorities in various forms (articles, memes, infographics, videos, etc.)
  • Experiment with new, creative ways to reach employees with the news and information they care about.
  • Design experiences that reinforce and build the company culture
  • Develop communication plans that think long-term, tying multiple communication moments together into broader strategies.
  • Research, write, edit, and publish communications with an obsession for quality, accuracy, and engagement.
  • Work across teams to mine for content that can be tailored and repurposed for our global audience.
  • Routinely measure and report out to stakeholders regarding the impact of internal communications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Four years of professional communications experience in a business, media, or ad agency.
  • Skilled at building relationships across teams, functions, and levels.
  • Experience project managing and coordinating content for events.
  • Proven communicator with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective team player who can lead efforts across functions.
