Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and test industrial kitchen appliances, ensuring proper functionality, efficiency, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures, extend service life, and optimize operational performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and plumbing faults in kitchen equipment with minimal downtime.
- Calibrate and fine-tune equipment such as ovens, fryers, and temperature controls to guarantee accuracy and food safety compliance.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations relating to gas, fire, electrical, and occupational health standards during all maintenance activities.
- Monitor spare parts and consumable inventory, ensuring availability and initiating timely requisitions to avoid service delays.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, service reports, compliance checklists, and technical records.
- Provide rapid response to emergency equipment breakdowns, implementing effective solutions to restore kitchen operations promptly.
- Collaborate closely with chefs and kitchen personnel to assess equipment performance and train users on proper operation and care.
- Recommend upgrades, replacements, or modifications for obsolete or underperforming equipment to improve kitchen efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are executed in compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Stay updated with advancements in kitchen equipment technology and apply best practices to enhance service delivery and operational reliability.
Requirements:
- Diploma, technical certification, or vocational training in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Skilled in preventive maintenance, calibration, and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations in kitchen operations
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
- Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks and work long hours if required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with the kitchen and management staff.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to manage time effectively and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a proactive work ethic.
