Job Description/Requirements

Job Description: 

  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant curriculum for ICT and Computing to Junior and Senior secondary school students. 
  • Prepare students efficiently for ICT examinations for both internal examinations, external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and International Exams such as IGCSE.  
  • To assist in the development of appropriate schemes of work towards selected ICT and computing syllabuses in both the British and Nigerian Curriculum.  
  • To ensure that students develop future-ready ICT skills such as coding, internet research skills, data analysis etc, necessary to make them competitive in the 21st-century work environment. 
  • To develop teaching resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the curriculum area.
  • To contribute to the curriculum area development plan and its implementation
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. 
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential. 
  • To assist in the process of curriculum development in ICT and Computing so as to ensure the continued relevance to the needs of students, examining and awarding bodies and the school’s ethos. 
  • To deliver and ensure Social and Emotional Learning in your classroom and create a classroom where students are free and not afraid to express themselves.  
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for the personal and academic growth of its students. 

Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Participate in relevant staff meetings and network with external organizations as part of curriculum enhancement, including extra-curricular ICT activities for the school.  
  • Review your own professional development and maintain professional standards.
  • Carry out any other such duties as the post holder may reasonably be required to do.
  • Assist in the delivery of ICT Safety, including all aspects of e-safety and Online Safety. 

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline.
  • ICT Teaching certification for secondary school level  


  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an ICT Teacher from a reputable school.  

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Expert knowledge in Windows Operating System 
  • Microsoft Office applications and Office 365 
  • Internet Research Skills  
  • Basic Coding skills e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
  • Windows Security and Permissions configuration. 
  • Internet connectivity Wi-Fi/LAN Setup and Troubleshooting  
  • Excellent presentation abilities. 
  • Strong written and administrative skills. 
  • Nurturing, adaptable approach to instructing. 
  • Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.
