The Hotel Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, following the hotel's recipes and standards. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the hotel's menu, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the hotel.
  • Ensure that all food is of the highest quality and presented according to the hotel's standards.
  • Assist with the inventory, ordering, and stocking of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations through exceptional food quality and presentation.
  • Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and food allergies with care and professionalism.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance as needed.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff and developing their skills.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or fine dining setting.
  • Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Food safety and sanitation certification (e.g., ServSafe) may be required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.
  • May require early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment with strict deadlines.
