Job Description/Requirements

Job Summary:

  • Reporting directly to the MD/CEO, whilst working proactively with the Senior Team, the Head of Operations/Credit & Marketing will lead a team of highly skilled team to create and deliver the Company’s strategic business and operational plans.
  • While delivering the plans, the Head of Operations/Credit & Marketing must demonstrate proactivity, efficiency, and effectiveness in terms of managing the operations and business development team members to achieve the overall growth of the business as well as competitiveness in the market.
  • Works closely and provide operational/Business support services to board members, executives, clients, & stakeholders to identify scope, oversee, manage and develop project plans and execute all operations & business projects from start to finish.
  • Positions the Company as a fully digital microfinance bank of choice in the market with innovative products and services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the operations & business plan from start to finish of the Bank as approved by the Board.
  • Run a successful digital Microfinance bank effectively using technology to drive assets and liability creation to achieve performance target. 
  • Use technology and E-Business Solutions to position the Bank as a major digital bank in Nigeria using all electronic channels to deliver a suite of products. 
  • Monitor and report project critical path and prompt delivery of bank electronic projects and ensure prompt completions. 
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes using technology and benchmarking with the best digital solutions in the marketplace. 
  • Manage the day-to-day operations/Credit & Marketing functions of the bank in the most effective and efficient way to comply with regulatory guidelines and goals of the bank as a leading digital bank.
  • Identify objectives, strategies and action plan to improve short and long-term earnings.
  • Manage Company operations to ensure 99% uptime of systems and operations and zero error rate at all times.
  • Ensure effective team/project-based communication and change management implementation.
  • Manage, develop and refine sales strategies to improve the market share of the Company’s products and ensure consistent, profitable growth in revenues.
  • Achieve operations, technology, revenue and asset/liability growth targets for the Company in line with the annual budget. 
  • Serve as the intermediary and communication link between internal and external team members throughout the road map of a project life cycle in the department.
  • Monitor project team performance and communicate major issues, slippages and suggested remedies.
  • Coordinate and manage interaction among diverse stakeholders and team members throughout a project lifecycle.
  • Establish infrastructure to capture and report on project targets/metrics.
  • Define/deploy a common set of processes, tools and templates to control the program.
  • Evaluate risks/issues and develop mitigation and resolution plans.

Competency and Skills Requirement:

  • Superior leadership and people management skills, including the ability to manage teams effectively in order to achieve performance targets. 
  • Proven E-Banking experience in a commercial bank/Microfinance bank or Fintech company with good technology and business solution background to drive a digital Microfinance business.
  • Strong business acumen, maturity and tact. 
  • Ability to use technology to drive assets and liabilities generation through multiple channels. 
  • Excellent knowledge of digital commercial/microfinance bank operations.
  • Good ability to deploy electronic solutions to grow market share.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, supervise and manage deadlines to achieve superior performance. 
  • Good knowledge of agency banking, wallet management and deployment of E-solution to meet the dynamic needs of customers and adapting market changes. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent people management and team spirit.
  • High sense of responsibility, accountability, integrity and ethical standards.
  • Good understanding of project management, research and development skills also with proven ability to use project management tools. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience and proven track record of excellence in a similar role.  
  • A first degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Computer, or a technology-related course from any reputable educational institution.
  • A professional qualification/postgraduate degree in Accounting, Banking, Technology. 
  • Must not be over 40 years of age.
