Job Description/Requirements
Purpose of the Position:
- To develop the Markets' Strategies in the Nigeria Region and implement the business plans, achieve operational targets, and ensure that processes and systems are robust enough for Connected Video to achieve its growth targets.
- To establish and grow a healthy brand position within the market, and drive all Sales, Marketing and CVM channels to grow market share
- To establish a healthy relationship (while driving major commercial discussions) with major external partners that can help drive growth and increased usage of the Showmax product
Key Performance Objectives:
Tasks:
1. Strategy – Developing & Executing Strategic Plans:
- Develops (with Corporate) and executes market-relevant strategies and business plans (both short term and long term)
- Seek and pursue new portfolio opportunities with the region in line with Connected Video and Our Africa Holdings’ mandates
- Develop and grow a locally relevant Sales and Marketing distribution network, including a direct sales force that can project Showmax’s locally relevant brand
- Provide strategic direction and ensure successful execution of plans for the following departments: Sales, Marketing (Digital, Traditional, PR), CVM, CX & Care
2. Bottom-line results:
- Responsible for the growth and financial performance of the Nigerian business unit:
- Growth – Subscriber's Growth, Market Share and growth of new markets
- Financial results - profit, free cash flow, ROI, margin
- Design and implement programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.
3. Stakeholder relations (Local Board members/Shareholders/ Nigeria team):
- Ensure strong relationships with local board members to achieve value-added results for Connected Video and Our Africa Holdings
- Ensure strong relationships with the local company Nigeria team, leveraging synergies between the two companies where possible to drive cost and revenue efficiencies
- Drive strategic changes and business initiatives in line with Connected Video’s and Our Africa Holdings’ mandates, including developing commitment among local shareholders.
- Engage with key external partners, communicating effectively and building trust, while also handling major commercial negotiations and brokering partnership opportunities to deliver on growth ambitions
4. Operational Excellence:
- Review market performance and leverage to achieve optimal results
- Making appropriate performance investment and resource allocation decisions across the markets
- Market structures, processes, systems review & alignment
5. Risk Management:
- Achieve breakthrough results in risk reduction; anticipate macro-environmental challenges, and proactively turn them into profitable opportunities and projects.

Requirements Essential:
- MBA or equivalent qualification
- 15 years of corporate experience at the senior management level, 10+ of which has been in Nigeria
- Strong marketing and sales background, with a history of launching new brands, and developing new sales channels from scratch including formal and informal channels
- Experience with growing young organisations and/or business units, and the guiding organisation’s through significant periods of change
- Knowledge/ experience in a financial environment
- Excellent knowledge of Pay-TV industry & Pay TV operations
- Ideally strong relationships with major MNO and ISP players in Nigeria
- Comprehensive knowledge of the digital content industry
- General management experience
