Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of both TCR English and TCR Hausa, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality of content.
- Oversee editorial processes, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and compelling news across all platforms (online newspaper, TV station).
- Develop and implement strategies for growth, revenue generation, and audience engagement across both platforms.
- Manage a diverse team of journalists, reporters, editors, and technical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Ensure that all content is aligned with the platform’s values and goals while staying ahead of industry trends and audience preferences.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including advertisers, content creators, and strategic partners, to drive business growth and expand TCR’s reach.
- Represent TCR at industry events, conferences, and meetings, enhancing the platform’s visibility and reputation.
- Develop and implement a robust business plan, ensuring financial targets are met and operational costs are managed effectively.
- Stay informed about the evolving media landscape, integrating new technologies, media trends, and business opportunities.
Requirements:
- Preferably based in Kano, with a strong understanding of social media and the local media environment.
- Minimum of 5+ years in media management, journalism, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
- Strong editorial, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in both digital and broadcast media is a plus.
- Strong skills in social media management.
- Ability to develop innovative strategies for content, audience engagement, and revenue generation.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of the Nigerian media landscape.
- Strong network and relationships within the media industry and other sectors.
- Proficiency in both English and Hausa is strongly preferred.
- A forward-thinking, results-oriented approach to solving problems and driving success.
