We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated General Manager for immediate start to manage and run a newly set-up hotel in Ilasamaja, Lagos.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Hotel Owner/ Chairman, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the hotel and its staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the Owner/ Chairman to develop and deliver on strategic objectives and performance targets for the hotel
  • Develop and track cost, revenue and profitability metrics for the hotel
  • Be accountable for ensuring the Hotel is up to date with all regulations and policies required to operate as a hotel
  • Be accountable for the efficient and smooth running of each department including Guest services, Restaurant and Bar, House keeping and Events
  • Motivate and manage the individual department heads to achieve and deliver on strategic objectives and targets
  • Conduct daily briefings with internal hotel staff 
  • Complete daily audits with department heads and report to the Owner/ Chairman on a daily basis
  • Liaise with  third party contractors e.g. Kitchen, security and other service contractors to ensure smooth operations and compliance with Health and Safety regulations
  • Liaise with local authorities and business associations e.g. Hotel regulators, PHCN etc.  as and when required
  • Manage and provide oversight and escalation for any security, maintenance and other ad-hoc issues as required by the hotel
  • Any other business and/ or operational activities required for the ongoing management of the hotel


Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with minimum 5 years experience in hotel management 
  • A Self-starter who can execute and deliver results with limited supervision
  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset required to run a newly established hotel business
  • Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills required in dealing with guests / customers, staff and third party contractors and authorities
  • An effective leader with a proven track record of creating a happy and collaborative work environment
  • Good understanding of digital trends and their application in the hospitality sector
  • Highly proficient in MS tools including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
