We are looking to hire a Financial Reporting Accountant who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger accounts of Charlvon, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role will be instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain and update the general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Close:
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure the financial close process is completed on time and accurately.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review trial balances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate management and ad hoc financial reports.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS) and company policies.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Reconciliations and Analysis:
- Conduct reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and other key accounts.
- Analyze financial data for accuracy and identify trends or anomalies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between sub-ledgers and the general ledger.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and recommend improvements.
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting systems or software (e.g., SAGE ERP).
- Streamline workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist with tax and regulatory reporting as needed.
- Ensure accurate recording of statutory deductions (e.g., VAT, WHT, NCDF, PAYE, Pension, etc.).
Fixed Asset Module Maintenance:
- Manage asset acquisition and capitalization.
- Oversee asset depreciation and amortization.
- Handle asset impairment and disposal.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance related to fixed assets.
- Conduct reconciliations and analysis of fixed asset accounts.
Requirements:
Academic & Professional Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification, e.g. Associate/member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), ACCA is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in a similar role and at least 2 years in a leadership position.
