Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

Job Description

Financial Controller Job dutiesOversee all company accounts and investmentsCreate monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecastsManage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reportsSupervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistantsMotivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedbackSuggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicingEnsure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reportedEstablish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislationCollaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulationsDevelop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reportsReview all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunitiesExamine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepanciesCreate systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculationsReport to the CFO with timely and accurate financial informationAssist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.


The jobholder’s accountability areas are outlined as follows;

· Submission of accurate, timely and relevant reports

· Successful implementation of quality control standards for goods and services offered.

· Effective supervision of employees assigned to the team

· Continuous process improvement of services through efficient working

·  Enforcement of relevant guidelines, rules and regulations 

Skills Required

· Demonstrate ability to use computerized accounting systems;

· Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice

· Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

· Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams

· Must demonstrate ability to multitask.

· Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness

· Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge

· Should demonstrate professional expertise in the relevant work area

· Must have the ability to communicate in both written and oral communication

· Must be able to work under pressure

· Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve the organizational goals

· Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages

· Must have knowledge in use of Accounting software packages (i.e. Peachtree, Sage)



The Job holder must possess;

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or in a business-related field.

· Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or its equivalent;

· A minimum of four 4 years of relevant working experience in relevant field;


Location: Iwo Osun State, operational office in Ibadan. Candidate must be willing to relocate and travel
