Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information.

Job Description

Financial Controller job duties are as follows:

  • Oversee all company accounts and investments.

  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.

  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.

  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.

  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.

  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.

  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation

  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations

  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports

  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities

  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies

  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations

  • Report and present timely and accurate financial information to top executives and board members.

  • Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness.

  • Should have the ability to solve problems by applying relevant managerial, business and finance knowledge.

  • Should demonstrate professional expertise in the relevant work area.

  • Must have the ability to communicate in both written and oral communication.

  • Must be able to work under pressure.

  • Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve the organizational goals.

  • Must have knowledge in the use of MS Office packages.

  • Must have knowledge in the use of Accounting Software Solutions (i.e. Peachtree, Sage)


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The bob holder must possess;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or in a business-related field.

  • Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or it's equivalent.

  • Minimum of four 4 years of relevant working experience in relevant field.
