Job Summary

As the Financial Analyst at Migo, you will design performance management reports based on extensive data analysis performed on key areas of the business, and seamlessly handle expense management, accounts payable process, and tax compliance. You will also define creative ways of executing functional activities to enhance service delivery.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee accounts payable, payroll and expenses management, including posting and reconciliation of the relevant financial ledgers.
  • Ensure appropriate local tax deductions on vendor invoices and make timely regulatory remittances
  • Perform extensive data analysis on key areas of the business to identify trends to aid management decision-making and design reports using charts to interpret and communicate findings to management.
  • Implement budgetary control by ensuring that payments are in line with budget and extra-budgetary items are flagged and duly approved before they are processed. Perform variance analysis comparing actual versus budget and providing insight on material fluctuations
  • Perform daily call-over of transactions to ensure that errors and/or irregularities are discovered promptly and escalated
  • Ensure timely update and preparation of accrual, account payables, and related schedules, and the relevant entries posted into the reporting application
  • Responsible for accounting for debt with third parties and related parties
  • Maintain digital financial records of supporting documents for transactions
  • Aggregate schedules and third-party documents in readiness for external audit exercises and other statutory inspections
  • Resolve vendor billing issues and verify discrepancies.


Requirements:

  • 2 - 3 years of working experience in a finance analyst role
  • Candidate must be proficient in computer applications; especially Microsoft excel, accounting software, and other related applications
  • The candidate must display the ability to handle high volumes of daily data/information with thoroughness.
  • Expert with problem-solving abilities, strong quantitative and statistical skills, ability to identify trends and behaviors in customer data and interpret data using charts
  • Accountable, reliable, and can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to relate with various internal and external stakeholders such as internal colleagues, auditors, bankers, and tax authorities.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner bother written and oral and good listening skills
  • Knowledge of statistical tools will be an added advantage
