Job Summary

The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting audit processes, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role plays a key part in providing insights into the financial health of the organization and supports strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/NGAAP).
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance and perform regular reconciliations.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns (VAT, WHT, CIT etc.).
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and support asset management activities.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to support management in decision-making.


Requirements:

  • BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ICAN, ACCA, or other relevant professional qualification (or in final stages).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment, pharmaceuticals will be an added advantages
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
