Job Summary

We are an ICT organisation based in Lekki, Lagos focused on software development & support for the higher education sector. We seek a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health of our company and administer accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The candidate should be familiar with audits, invoices, and budget preparations.

  • Experience Level: Mid level
  • Experience Length: 2 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities ):

  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Process invoices
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Track bank deposits and payments
  • Assist with budget preparation and budget forecasts
  • Review and implement financial policies
  • Manage and maintain accurate accounting transactions
  • Prepare monthly payroll
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
  • Prepare financial transactions and documents for Audit
  • Complying with all company, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts.
  • Filing annual returns
  • Manage petty cash, office supplies stock, and work with vendors to ensure adequate levels of necessary supplies at all time
  • Manage both local and cloud filing systems for important and confidential company documents
  • Maintain and update company databases
  • Event Planning and Organisation
  • Arrange travel and accommodations where necessary


  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using financial software including Quickbooks
  • High level of ICT literacy with good knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or similar
  • Professional qualification is considered a plus
  • Experience: Accounting: 3 years+
  • Knowledge of NGO Management is an advantage.
