Job Summary

A firm in the oil and gas sector seeks qualified candidates to fill this role. This position reports to and supports the Business Development and Finance Managers to provide effective and efficient financial and administrative services to the company. The position is subject to a probation period of 3 months.

Job Description/Requirements


  • To support the Finance Manager on payroll administration for both regular employees and staff on secondment in clients’ offices
  • Ensure all the financial transactions are well documented and entry made into the Accounting System
  • Collect tax-related documents and discuss financial status with clients
  • Calculate taxes owed and prepare tax returns, submit tax returns on time and track payments or refunds from clients
  • Work with Finance/Business managers to assess financial status and identify methods for cost-reduction   and efficiency improvements
  • Attend meetings with individual and business clients
  • Check for compliance with local, state, and federal laws in all financial related transactions
  • Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Business Development Manager, and perform             
  • other related duties as required by the Business Development Manager
  • In conjunction with the Business Development Manager participates in and assists with the recruitment process of staff to the Company (i.e Job Posting, Selection Process and provides Orientation program to new staff.
  • Identifies, recommends and participates in the implementation of strategies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations together with new or existing programs and projects that can best meet the needs of the Organization;


  • Academic qualification of either an HND or First Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Management
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role as described in the Duties and Responsibilities above
  • Proficient in the use of Accounting /Payroll Packages (Peachtree, Sage etc)
  • A high level of Proficiency in Microsoft suites (Excel, PowerPoint and Words)
