Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions, including assets, liabilities, and equity.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Oversee cash flow, investment strategies, and risk management.
- Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions to optimize financial performance.
- Develop and implement company’s financial policies and procedures in conjunction with senior management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Supervise administrative staff and processes to ensure efficient operation of the factory.
- Implement and maintain office systems, policies, and procedures.
- Develop, monitor, and revise budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure effective use of resources.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements including tax filings.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and address any issues that arise.
- Communicate financial information and performance to senior management, stakeholders, and employees.
- Facilitate decision-making processes by providing relevant financial insights.
- Collaborate with HR to manage payroll, employee benefits, and other HR-related financial matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Lead and manage financial projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
- Mentor and develop finance and administrative staff.
- Provide training on financial systems, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s / Higher National Diploma Degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related degree.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, laws, and regulations impacting the industry.
- Experience in management, financial, and statutory reporting.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition.
- The ability to articulate recommendations in a clear, concise, and prompt manner.
- Time management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with exemplary problem-solving, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Strong drive to deliver results on time.
- Ability to work well with others, independently, and foster teamwork.
