Job Summary

The Facility Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of all physical infrastructure, office utilities, and vendor services. The role involves both hands-on supervision and administrative tasks to support day-to-day facility functions.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on the condition of office buildings, equipment, and utilities.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and emergency repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
  • Supervise janitors, cleaners, and outsourced technical vendors.
  • Conduct daily facility checks and log faults for resolution.
  • Maintain inventory of facility supplies and request replenishment as needed.
  • Support in planning space utilisation, workstation setups, and office moves.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain facility documentation: checklists, maintenance logs, vendor records.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports to the Facility Manager.


Requirements:

  • OND/HND or Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in facility support or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of basic building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic facility reporting tools.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Physically fit and able to inspect sites or lift light equipment if required.
