Job Summary
Our client, Africa Critical Elements is a leading player in the critical minerals sector, focusing on lithium production in Nigeria. Their strategy involves sourcing 2% ore from artisanal open pit mining sites, eliminating the need for managing extensive mining operations. They also operate as a trading entity, buying and selling high-grade ores. Africa Critical Elements is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee their 120 tpd lithium spodumene flotation and ball mill processing plant in Nasarawa, Nigeria set for commissioning Q2 2025.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of the lithium spodumene flotation and ball mill processing plant
- Manage plant personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Optimize plant efficiency and productivity
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and oversee equipment repairs
- Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products
- Liaise with procurement, artisanal miners, and ore traders to ensure consistent supply
- Prepare and manage budgets for plant operations
- Report on plant performance and key metrics to senior management
- Implement and maintain quality control processes
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mineral processing plant management
- Prior senior management experience in lead-zinc flotation plants in Nigeria
- Strong understanding of flotation and ball mill processes + optimization
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills
- Familiarity with Nigerian mining regulations and environmental standards
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in lithium processing
- Knowledge of artisanal mining practices and ore trading
- Familiarity with the Nasarawa region and its mining landscape
