Experienced School Bursar

Responsibilities:

• Manage all school financial accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow
• Oversee the accounting and bookkeeping for the school, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the Principal and Board of Trustees
• Develop and manage the school's annual operating budget in collaboration with the Principal and other administrators
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards
• Manage the school's banking relationships and investment portfolio
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
• Supervise the school's finance and accounting staff
• Serve as a key point of contact for parents, vendors, and other external stakeholders on financial matters
• Participate in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a school bursar or in a similar senior-level financial management role
• Strong knowledge of school finance, accounting, and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets, and other relevant technology
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
