A new professional body in the construction sector has just been formed into an institute and requires an articulate, proactive, energetic and goal driven professional to drive it (preferably a female professional)

Job Description/Requirements

The specific responsibilities of the Executive Officer are:

  • To take a proactive role in the identification of personal and group training and developmental needs which support Institute objectives to the public and to actively participate in the fulfillment of identified training and development needs. 
  • To take active roles in the Institute's program for attraction and recruitment of different categories of members.
  • To oversee the effective strategies for the recruitment of faculty members and facilitators.
  • To contribute to promotional activities both inside and outside the Institute and to assist in the production of promotional and publicity materials as required.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of effective communication within and beyond the Institute and act as an ambassador for the Institute and an advocate of its interests.
  • To seek out development opportunities for the Institute, including business and community partnerships.
  • To ensure that the Institute participates effectively in local, regional, and national partnerships.
  • To develop a constructive relationship with the Education and Skills Funding Agency, government, and other agencies.
  • To oversee the maintenance and development of the Institute’s partnerships with higher institutions of learning to meet the higher education needs of young members.
  • To develop effective partnerships with local employers and companies to provide a wide range of education and training opportunities.
  • To promote a culture of integrity and transparency in the Institute.
  • To make proposals to the Institute regarding the educational character, activities, and mission of the Institute, developing an ambitious vision with which to inspire and motivate the growth plan.
  • To ensure that the Institute is fully engaged in all strategic decisions which affect the mission and character of the Institute.
  • To provide effective leadership, mentoring, and management of the Institute's staff members.
  • To provide management and leadership of staff which will ensure that the Institute discharges all its legal responsibilities and that good employee relations are maintained and developed.
  • To support the Institute's implementation committees in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Institute plans, programs, and policies.
  • To demonstrate prudent and effective budgetary management.
  • To lead the executive leadership team to ensure that the Institute offers the highest quality of service and fosters a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • To ensure that there is proper and effective operation of financial, planning and management controls of the Institute.
